A crown, or circlet, of human hair. I stitched and knotted the hair with thread, using images of extinct species of bird and plants to create simple lines. An in-progress shot, this shows the crown after stitching: washed but not yet shaped. You can check out the crowning glory folder in my portfolio to see some finished versions, after they are styled with gel and hairspray. Yes, it is official, I have purchased many more grooming products for my work than for my self (those of you who know me will not be surprised...)
