Work > crowning glories

“code red foodchain (one)” consists of two line drawings, a North Atlantic Right Whale (top) and phytoplankton (bottom), stitched into human hair. These separate components are tenuously spliced together with lead split shot sinkers, used in fishing. This work is part of an ongoing series, “crowning glories,” that explores endangered and newly extinct species by positing the notion of self in relation to other beings that are affected by an individual's choices, beings of human and other species.
