Sketches of diatoms on soluble starch, mounted on pins in water-filled petri dishes. This pic shows work with petri dishes full of water, and only a few drawings starting to dissolve.

Diatoms are single-celled algae, found in water and wet environments, and are one of the most significant groups of organisms on earth. Diatoms probably account for 20% of global photosynthetic fixation of carbon. A plea to consider clean water, and the intertwined nature of our world.
